This Week... SB Cup and Landscape Cup
Last night the committee were asked to clarify the entry requirements for the upcoming Landscape Cup and SB Cup.

Both competitions are trophy comps so you CAN enter images which have already been in a league competition (regardless of what they scored and whether they were prints or PDIs).

Landscape Cup

The Landscape Cup images should adhere to the following rules...

"A landscape image should capture the beauty or interest in the variety of the views we see around us in the outdoor world."

The 'scape' part of this means - denoting an extensive view.

Although called a landscape competition, land does not have to form the majority or even a part of the image - sky, sea, snow and urban views are also acceptable. People and man-made objects can form part of the image but should not be the main subject of it. Details in the landscape should comply with the extensive requirement - a close up of single pebble or tree probably would not, but a pebble beach or forest would- a collection of tree trunks would not. Urban views are acceptable providing they give a wide view of a number of buildings within the landscape. Daytime and night-time shots are both acceptable. Colour and Monochrome are both acceptable.

The SB Cup

The SB Cup this year will include ANY club organised portraiture or still life session. This is due to the club organising a number of different portraiture and still life sessions this season, both indoors and outdoors
.

Entries must have been taken since the SB Cup was last awarded on 12th April 2018. Please check the "taken" date of your image before entering.

Our Competition Rules for next season, including the criteria for all trophies, are currently under review by the committee and details of changes will be announced soon.
Say Hello!

It can be hard venturing to a club for the first time, not knowing who is who and what the meeting is about. To make it a better experience for visitors we are introducing a team of Welcomers to greet members and visitors at the door on club nights.

You'll be the friendly face of the club, introducing visitors to the committee and to other members.

Thank you to David for volunteering to be our first Welcomer, and also to George, Denise and Ant who have also offered to make our members and visitors feel welcome at the door.

If you'd like to help, please let Steve know and he'll add you to the rota.
Coming Up...
18th April - no meeting due to Easter
