Club night summary – 28th March

Another league print competition this week ‘Open’ and set subject ‘Shape’. Great response on entries (as we have had on all competitions this season) A total of 77 prints over the two competitions. 38 open and 39 ‘shape’.

When you consider the amount of effort in producing prints compared to PDI’s, that really is a tremendous contribution from everyone who entered.

The standard was very high, with some innovative ideas on the Interpretation of the ‘shape’ Prints.

This gave the visiting Judge Rojer Weightman a difficult task, choosing the ultimate high scoring Images.

Overall an enjoyable night and some excellent work was produced, which once again will enable us to choose some strong Images to represent the club in external competitions next season.

Next Season’s Competitions

I’ve added provision dates to the program of events list for next season’s PDI and Print competitions.  I’ve arbitrarily set the date as the 1st of the month, and will of course update the calendar  when the actual dates have been published.

Club night summary – 21st March

This week we had a talk/ presentation given by Steven Galvin entitled ‘ I shoot animals and sometimes I chop their heads off’.  The presentation featured mainly wildlife and some underwater photography. Many of the interesting Images were off a very high standard coupled with a good narrative delivered with enthusiasm and passion for photography. In addition Steven placed some superb Prints around the hall for the members to view during the evening.

Another good speaker and Interesting topic on our varied programme of events during the season.
