Club night summary – 14th March

Our final league PDI of the season with the final league positions being decided on the outcome of the night. Another excellent response of entries totalling 96 for the two competitions of set subject ‘night’ and‘open’. Sadly the entries needed to be reduced to 69 ( 32 ‘night’ and 37 Open)to give the judge a chance and be able to give meaningful comments on each image.

The overall standard on the night was once again very high, with a good spread of Club authors scoring well.

Damon Guy competently judged the competitions. He commented at the end regarding the high standard the members had produced, to make an interesting and enjoyable night.

Gallery Watermarking

All the 2018 galleries have now been reloaded with watermarked versions of images bearing both the image’s title and the author’s name.

Also the submission rules in PhotoEntry have been changed as per the Newsletter.  The watermark and strip metadata are now defaulted to Yes regardless of the actual option chosen at submission.  Only the Do Not Publish option is now honoured.

The PhotoEntry section of the club website has more detailed:

Very Important: You must clear you browser’s image cache to see the updated images.

Club night summary – 7th March

This week we celebrated our ‘Spring Social ‘ an evening which Included a Fish and chip supper and a quiz. A great fun filled social evening with a few taxing questions in the quizzes, but always played in great spirit.

Congratulations to the ultimate table winners, which went to a tie break question on the keenly fought battle.

George gave a short presentation earlier in the evening regarding updating our publishing preferences for competition entries and how the Images will appear on the website.

Thanks to all who helped organise the very enjoyable evening.
