Decisions

  1. Entire committee is prepared to stand again in their current roles
  2. No increase in subs required next year
  3. We need to identify successors for Vanessa, Rod and Ian next year
  4. Next year’s program ideas:
    • Replace 2 member nights with topic focussed learning sessions:. Suggested topics:
      • Portraits – Ant/Alan
      • Dodge and Burn – Ant
      • Nature – Jeremy
      • Journey to obtaining a distinction – Steven and Susan
      • Landscapes – Rod
    • External speakers
      • Increase the number of high quality external speaker evenings. 
      • A return to 22/23 level of expenditure approved
      • Returning to Zoom based speakers approved but via presentation in the hall only
    • Workshops
      • Bring your camera based workshops still important
      • Peer reviewing members photos needs to be included in the format – proposal that time is set aside during each workshop for reviewing images taken at the previous one

Actions

  • George – promote to members they should make 1600 x 1200 copies of comp entries as a matter of course
  • George – develop a roll of honour web page to celebrate members achievements in the current season
  • George – develop a web page to record the club’s progress in external comps
  • George – tell Ant when the Programme of Events changes
  • George – call for someone to organise the club’s Revels stand
  • George – ask members if they can distribute flyers
  • George – verify smartphone photography is not discouraged in anyway on the website
  • George – ask Parminder, Beverley and Saud where they discovered the club
  • Ant – enter Croxley into the camera club of the year competition
  • Ant – change the newsletter to comprise three consecutive weekly update editions followed by a longer monthly news update
  • Alan – develop a Portrait interclub competition format
  • Alan – evaluate if we can rerun David’s external photo competition
  • Vanessa – investigate options for advertising in libraries
