Cat Humphries

I’ve been the Secretary for Croxley Camera Club for the past five years, putting the club programme together and editing our club newsletter.

Since joining the club ten years ago, my photography skills have improved immensely. I’d always taken photos but didn’t really think about what I wanted to capture. Now I’m confident in how to use my camera and have learnt to edit my images in Lightroom and Photoshop, creating images instead of just taking images. I now help with our club workshops and  have even started judging competitions for other clubs in the area – something I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing a few years ago!

One of my favourite subjects to photograph is people. I’m privileged to be the resident photographer for Rickmansworth Players and have become an active member of our club’s studio group. In the future I hope to work on more photographic projects, either documenting life on my local allotments, or producing a group of images to gain a photographic distinction… or perhaps both!
